My name is Errens Van Der Merwe and I am the proud owner of Dammab Hunting Safaris.
I am a proud Namibian Afrikaner, born and raised in the Windhoek district. I had the privilege of growing up on our family ranch "Kelpie" which is situated in the beautiful mountain range area called the Khomas Highland.
My passion for hunting started when I was five years old. I hunted my first animal alongside my father, who taught me that it is a hunter's privilege and honour to protect and preserve his game. Hunting for food was our main purpose as we not only had to provide for ourselves but also support the community. It has since become a dream of mine to be a Professional Hunter and I have been living my dream for the past 15 year.
While growing up with the children in the rural community, I learned to speak one of Namibia's native languages "Damara". The Eldery natives then gave me the name "The White Damara" which in their language is called Dammab and this is where the origin of the name Dammab Hunting Safari's started.
Namibia is known for its various wildlife species, however after my first face to face encounter with a Leopard, it left me enticed, and I have been studying them in the wild ever since.
You will see that on the logo the Leopard print only consists of three toes, a story I would like to share in person.
My wife and I have a vision for Dammab Hunting Safaris: to help clients have their desired Namibian Hunting experience, to get that special trophy and, most importantly, to have clients we will part with as friends.
